The junior-high team acquitted themselves quite well at Barnesville Saturday with all four wrestlers placing in the top-six.
Grant Vasey once again led the way in the 80-lb weight class as he finished with a 3-1 record on the day with all three wins by virtue of a pin to help him snare the runner-up trophy. In the 98-lb weight class, Braylon Leiffer finished with a 2-3 record on the day with two pins to help him garner a 4th-place finish. Chris Somerville, in his only his second day of competition after a lengthy knee injury, finished with a 3-2 record with three pins for a 5th-place finish in the 172-lb weight class while Landon Taylor notched a 6th-place finish with a 2-3 record on the day aided by two pins.
The junior-high wrestling team will finish their season on Fri-Sat, Jan 24-25 when they travel to Belmont for the Union Local Tournament.
