The Big Reds recovered from a large early deficit to win their opening-season game over Barnesville by the final of 56-39.
The Big Reds found themselves down 24-8 early in the game before Coach Raphael Johnson switched to a full-court press led by Ray Pettigrew. Led by the turnovers forced by the pressure, the Reds came roaring back to win the game going away.
Pettigrew led the team with 17 points while Brenton Naumann manned the lane to the tune of 14 points. Jake Dowling chipped in with nine points and Joey Lewis came off the bench to contribute seven points.
Naumann and Paxton Marling had a great game rebounding and providing stout defense and Braylon Kinder nailed a timely three-pointer to aid in the comeback.
The team will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to Union Local.
